Helping find young people immediate support.

iPhone and Android apps

25,000 South Australians receive homelessness support each year, but many more go without help simply because they don't know the services exist.

We partnered with Shelter SA to build Pickle: a cross-platform app that helps young people find support services that are relevant to them.

Process

We worked closely with Shelter SA to identify the functionality that would maximise access to homelessness services. With this information, an initial prototype was developed, tested and refined with user focus groups and accessibility testing.

Features

Pickle provides a clean and simple interface for the discovery of support services. People can get immediate phone support via the app, or they can access a list of relevant services. Geo-location and a user profile are used to tailor the results to the individual, without sacrificing privacy.
